Regula Guldimann is the founder of Niyama – Studio for Yoga and Pilates, and opened it 2010.
She is a certified instructor in yoga (E-RYT500), pilates and fitness, and a member of the Schweizer Yogaverbandes (SYV).
She has been working in the field for more than 10 years and has taught groups as well as individuals. Her classes are carefully built up, she looks out for proper alignment of the poses and she is teaching with a sense of humor and lightness. Regula knows how to motivate her students, withour overwhelming them.
In 2007, she lived in New York City for a year, studied nutrition and became a certified health counselor (Institute of Integrative Nutrition, New York City). She also visited leading institutes to get inspired by the newest trends in yoga and pilates in New York City. She did one of her yoga teacher trainings at the highly renowned Om Yoga Center NYC with Cyndi Lee and continuing teacher trainings with Doug Swenson (Sadhana Yoga Chi) and Bryan Kest (Power Yoga). Regula is often visiting workshops with internalionally known yogateachers like Kathryn Budig, David Swenson, Tiffany Cruikshank, Jason Crandell or Shiva Rea. Besides the different Vinyasa Flow Trainings, Regula also completed a Meditation and Pranayama Teacher Training as well as a Restorative Yoga Teacher Training with Cyndi Lee.
Since 2014, Niyama Studio has its own Yoga Teacher Training, which is accepted by Yoga Alliance.
Regula has studied Psychology in Basel, and is an accepted Psychotherapist by the FSP in kognitive behavioral psychotherapy. With that background, a holistic point of view is important to Regula: mental processes, physical activity and a balanced nutrition interact with each other. For her, that’s the way to stay healthy, and to find balance and equanimity.
