This event if both for Yoga teachers who want to start teaching Yin Yoga as well as for anybody interested in a deeper understanding of the philosophical and anatomical foundations of Yin Yoga. The course includes the latest research of fascia, online learning resources related to Yin Yoga and more than 10 class plans for you to practice and teach.

Practice: feel the yin
  • Daily 2-hour yin practice
  • Get a detailed understanding of the main yin poses and learn the difference between a yin and yang approach to asana
  • Cultivate mindfulness and letting go in your own practice
  • Understand the role of alignment in yin yoga 
  • Learn how to use – and how not to use – props in yin poses
  • Experience assists and modifications for different body types in yin poses
Advanced anatomy for yin yoga teachers
  • Get the most up-to-date research on fascia and what role fascia plays in the mind-body connection
  • Detailed analysis of all major joints, their surrounding muscles, and connective tissue and how yin yoga affects these structures
  • Understand the different impacts of yin vs. yang yoga on body and mind
  • Learn the key aspects of meridian theory and Chinese elements and how to apply them in your yin classes
  • Get to know the difference between tension and compression, learn to differentiate between the two and understand their role in the individual alignment of students
Teaching Yin
  • Detailed break-down of all yin poses and the target areas of each pose
  • Practice how to read students‘ bodys and how to offer appropriate modifications and assists
  • Learn how to create a yin atmosphere that is conductive to letting go and moving into stillness
  • You will get more than 10 yin class plans that focus on different meridians
  • Get to understand how to structure and sequence yin classes in a way that makes sense anatomically and promotes letting go
  • Teaching meditation and how to integrate it into your yin classes
Philosophical foundations
  • Understand the Chinese philosophy of YinYang and how to weave this theme into your teaching
  • Deepen your understanding of Patanjali’s yoga sutras and how to apply them when teaching Yin classes
  • Know the differences between Buddhist and Vedic philosophy and approaches to yoga
